When we die, do our atoms turn into a form of reincarnation, so religion is right?

So, yeah. I don't mean religion is right all the way, because there may not be a God, and I kind of vacillate between being atheist, to being spiritual but not religious, to being agnostic and I don;t know the heck what I think (I can't say hell or else I'll get the word "hell" asterisked, or will I?), but lately I've developed a theory, or maybe I didn't develop it, but someone else did and I'm just copying and believing it (there's nothing new under the sun, right?) but after we die, our atoms, we turn into atoms which are the basic building blocks like Lego bricks of all living things, right? So do out atoms just disperse, after we break down and turn into them, and then do they get eaten or get absorbed by other living things, so we turn into those living things, like animals or plants or fungi or single-celled organisms, after we die as humans? Like, do our brains break down so we're not us anymore, so you're not the same person that you were when you had your human brain, but do some of the atoms in your body turn into the brains of non-human mammals, or even other humans? So do we get another consciousness? I don't know whether that makes me feel batter, or scares me, because I'd like to become another human, but that human wouldn't be me, and I would still be dead because I wouldn't have my life anymore, or even worse, what if I became a dog that was abused? Or a sick salmon with fungi all over it that has a miserable life in some stagnant canal before it slowly dies? Or a plant that doesn't have any feelings or thoughts at all? Actually, if I were a plant, I wouldn't care. I think it might be better to believe that after we're dead, we're all just dead, and we won't care, it won't even be all black void and nothing because we won't be able to sense anything. I mean, it will be a void. A nothing we won't feel. I mean, would you really want to be reincarnated as a person over and over again? That means after a while, you will be alive to experience the apocalypse or the nuclear disaster or killer asteroid or mutant killer Ebola plague that will end us all and be the end of the world and all humanity forever. Do you want to experience that? I don't think so. But this is NOT about what I think, or what you think, or what anybody else THINKS, it's about the TRUTH, Yahoo Answers is about asking questions and finding about the TRUTH, not about our puny little soft teddy bear feelings and emotions and what makes us FEEL GOOD, it's about HARD FACTS AND REALITY, so BRING IT ON! What is going to happen to us, according the the nexus of reality between religion and science, because neither extreme holds the whole truth, WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO US AFTER WE DIE???
