Christians: have you ever studied the religions that came before the advent of Christianity?

Former non-Christian here. Christians study a religion that came before the advent of Christianity by studying the Old Testament. As for my own personal experience, before converting to the Catholic faith, I was a pagan who studied witchcraft and satanism. But the Holy Spirit led me away from those evils and to the fullness of Truth which can only be found in the Catholic Church. I owe everything good in my life to Christ.
